August
- 21 August 2020 – Dots redenomination (1 -> 100)! [Link]

December
- 05 December 2018 – W3F Grants program launched – supporting Substrate and Polkadot builders! [Link] (first commit)

- 30 August 2018 — Polkascan Launched! [Link]
- 29 August 2018 — Polkabot Launched! [Link]
- 27 August 2018 — Gavin interviewed live on Bloomberg. [Link]
- 20 August 2018 — W3F announce the Polkadot Runtime Environment (PRE) grant. [Link]
- 08 August 2018 — 1,000,000 blocks, two blockchain protocols, numerous validators and 51 peers. [Link]
July
- 26 July 2018 — First parachain deployed! Rob Habermeier deployed the first parachain to the PoC2 network. [Link]
- 17 July 2018 — Proof-of-Concept 2 is here! At 18:49 (London), the network stakeholders successfully performed an on-chain governance-based upgrade of the global testnet from PoC-1 to PoC-2. The first of its kind in the wild. [Link]
- 16 July 2018 — Web3 Foundation’s collaboration repo is launched. First issue added! [Link]
- 05 July 2018 — Global testnet just passed 500,000 blocks. [Link]
- 03 July 2018 — Polkadot won the Hottest Blockchain Protocol 2018 at the Europas awards!
June
- 22 June 2018 — Robert Habermeier named 2018 Thiel Fellow [Link]
- 22 June 2018 — The Polkadot Network nominated for three awards at the Europas awards: Hottest Blockchain Protocol, Hottest Blockchain ICO in Europe, and Jutta Steiner voted as the Hottest Startup Founder. (Eventually won Hottest Blockchain Protocol 2018).

- 07 June 2018 — Polkadot Pizza Day! The first real world transaction of DOTs. @EAThomson pays Josh 10,000 DOTs for a pizza. Hopefully he doesn’t regret it! [Tweet with Video]

- 18 May 2018 — Proof-of-Concept 1 is here! The first major milestone. [Link][Twitter]
- 04 May 2018 — Substrate presentation plus a live demo of the Polkadot governance model (EdCon, Toronto). [Link][Video]
- 02 May 2018 — Gavin showed off a test of a governance-based dynamic runtime-upgrade for Polkadot. [Link]

- 26 April 2018 — Parity reconfirmed their commitment to the Ethereum ecosystem. [Link]
- 19 April 2018 — Parity Substrate revealed at Event Horizon, Berlin. [Link]
- 10 April 2018 — First transaction (“extrinsic”) validated/finalised on a Polkadot chain. [Link]

- 04 January 2018 — Ether hits $1000 for the first time.

- 19 December 2017 — New Wikipedia page created for the Polkadot project. [Link]

- 11 December 2017 — Parity provided an update on their thinking on the frozen funds. [Link]

November
- 29 November 2017 — Ether hits $500 for the first time.
- 28 November 2017 — Polkadot Dev Update #1. [Link].
- 20 November 2017 — Gavin publishes a specification document on Github. [Link]
- 20 November 2017 — Web3 created a new subreddit for the project (r/polkadot_network). Update: Now migrated to a new place r/dot: [Link]
- 15 November 2017 — Gavin launches Polkadot Technical chat room on riot (read only). [Link]
- 12 November 2017 — Polkadot.market website launched.
- 09 November 2017 — First code released on Github. Private at the time of writing. [Announcement]
- 08 November 2017 — Bug in the Parity multi-sig wallet freezes the pre-sale funds. [Announcement] [Update]
October
- 27 October 2017 — Polkadot pre-sale concluded. 485,331 Eth raised (at 1 dot = 0.109 ETH). 1 Eth: ~ $296.80.
- 26 October 2017 — First Polakdot meetup held in London. [Event]
- 15 October 2017 — Polkadot pre-sale starts (via polkadot.network).
- 09 October 2017 — The first ever Polkadot meetup was held in Berlin. [Event]
August
- 13 August 2017 — Polkadot.market domain name purchased.
July
- 29 July 2017 — Polkadot Market subreddit launched.
- July 2017 — Polkadot pre-sale (“ICO”) announced.
- 01 July 2017 — Edward wrote a brief review of the #EthLdn meetup which included a comment on Polkadot. This was followed up with a preliminary analysis of the pre-sale.
June
- 16 June 2017 — Gavin Wood presented Polkadot at the Ethereum London meetup. Video here: [Youtube]
